Payments based on delivery date

Funds from an order are reserved for certain days (known as Payment Reserve Period or Account Level Reserve Period) after the latest estimated delivery date (EDD) to ensure that you have enough funds to fulfil any refund requests from buyers. The number of days i.e. your default payment policy depends on your STEP level. The default payment policy for Basic Level is 10 days, Standard level is 7 days, Advanced level is 7 days and Premium level is 3 days. You can view the STEP Dashboard to know your Level.

After the Payment Reserve Period, the funds will be available for transfer to your bank account on your next payment date, as long as you have a positive account balance. Payment dates vary for each seller based on registration date.

Here is how the timing works:

  1. For Seller in Premium level (Payment Reserve Period – 3 Days):

In the example below, assume that you sell a book on January 1 and the latest estimated delivery date is January 6. Funds are in reserve for 3 days till January 9 and are available for disbursement from January 10.

  2. For Seller in Advanced or Standard level (Payment Reserve Period – 7 Days):

In the example below, assume that you sell a book on January 1 and the latest estimated delivery date is January 6. Funds are in reserve for 7 days till January 13 and are available for disbursement from January 14.

  3. For a Seller in Basic level (Payment Reserve Period – 10 Days):

In the example below, assume that you sell a book on January 1 and the latest estimated delivery date is January 6. Funds are in reserve for 10 days till January 16 and are available for disbursement from January 17.

Note: We automatically deduct Amazon fees or refunds due to customers from your available balance, and this may reduce the net amount you receive for an order.

You can also use 'Request Transfer' button on payments page to disburse funds which are available for transfer post the reserve period. This feature can be used once in 24 hours. However, if the balance available for transfer is zero, disbursement will not be initiated.

If you use ship tracking through these integrated shipping providers, Amazon receives the actual delivery date of each order. We will reserve funds based on the actual delivery date instead of the latest estimated delivery date. As the actual delivery date is often earlier than the latest estimated delivery date, funds become available faster. The number of days i.e. your default payment policy depends on your STEP level. 2. For Seller in Advanced or Standard level (Payment Reserve Period – 7 Days):

In the example below, assume that you sell a book on January 1 and the actual delivery date is January 3. Funds are in reserve for 7 days till January 10 and are available for disbursement from January 11.

You won't see disbursement option if you have transitioned to a delivery date payment schedule because of a performance review.
