Amazon also performs regular reviews of products in its catalogue that may be regulated as dangerous goods to ensure that shipments meet regulatory requirements and safety standards for buyers and its employees. During one of these reviews, it may happen that your product is flagged as missing complete dangerous good information. In this case, we will ask you to submit a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) or an exemption sheet (for batteries and battery-powered products, and for products that do not contain harmful chemicals) depending on your product type.
To know more about the review process, refer to Easy Ship – Dangerous goods review process.
A Safety Data Sheet (SDS, previously known as MSDS) is a detailed information bulletin containing 16 sections prepared by the manufacturer or importer that describes the physical and chemical properties, physical and health hazards, routes of exposure, precautions for safe handling and use, emergency and first-aid procedures and control measures of a product.

Upload safety data sheets
You must upload eligible Safety Data Sheets using the Upload dangerous goods documents tool.
Follow the guidance below:
After you have uploaded your SDS, the Dangerous Good team will review the document within 4 business days. If the document is complete and accurate, we will classify your product during that time frame. However, if the document is invalid, you will be requested to provide updated documentation.
To avoid classification delays, we strongly recommend you check that your SDS complies with the requirements listed above before providing it to Amazon. Each new document submission takes an additional four business days from the day of the upload.
An exemption sheet is a document required by Amazon to gather specific dangerous good
information for products exempted from providing an SDS by the regulations / law. The
exemption sheet will be accepted for the following 2 categories of products only.
