No, there is no monthly subscription fee to sell in India. You will only pay when you sell i.e. you will have to pay fees on every item sold on Amazon.
No, you can start selling in India directly under the MFN model.
MFN model means Merchant Fulfilment Network, where the seller ships the orders directly from their own homes, businesses or warehouses contracting directly with logistic providers.
Sellers under MFN model will have to pay a referral fee and closing fee on each item sold on Amazon.
For all products, a percentage of the total sales price that is paid by the buyer (including item price, any shipping or gift-wrap charges charged by the seller) is deducted as a referral fee.

As per Indian Cross Border Transaction Laws we will be disbursing money on daily basis in your Bank Account. The Statement View in your Payments Report will show you how much you will be paid. The payment reports are standardized across Amazon in all marketplaces.
We will transfer the money in your Bank Account updated in your account settings. Based on the country of your bank account, we will transfer the amount in that particular country’s currency. For example: if you give a Bank Account of US, we will transfer the amount in USD to your bank account.

In order to sell on Amazon.in you will be required to partner and ship orders through one of Amazon recommended carriers. This is to ensure that seller business is compliant with regulatory norms in India. Sellers are requested to partner with any of the recommended carriers and share a contract id with Amazon in this step.
These carriers are integrated with Amazon system and will help in two ways: (a) clear orders at IN customs in a timely and compliant manner and (b) provide order tracking visibility to the customer.
