Maintain enrolment in Local Shops - Prime

Focus on four metrics to ensure Prime badge continues to be activated on your offers:


  1. Valid Tracking Rate (VTR) should be 100% for your shipments.
  2. On-Time Delivery Rate (OTDR)* should be at least 97% for your shipments.
  3. Pre-fulfilment Cancellation Rate (CR) should be less than 0.5%.
  4. Order Defect Rate (ODR) should be less than 0.5% .

*On-Time Delivery Rate (OTDR) metric measures how many of your shipments are delivered or attempted on time. OTDR is calculated on number of shipments delivered or attempted on or before the promised delivery date divided by the total number of tracked shipments in that period.

Breach of any of the above metrics will result in removal of Prime badge for all of your Local shops offers. You can also continue to sell on standard Self Ship. Once the badge is removed, you will have to wait for 30 days to re-enable Prime on your Self Ship offers subject to your meeting the eligibility criteria as mentioned above.

Note: All Prime orders need to be processed (ship confirm/self deliver) by ‘Ship by date’ otherwise orders will get auto cancelled if not ship confirmed by ‘Ship By’ date. This will count as a defect on your account and you will be charged cancellation fee (100% of referral fee).

Best practices: Success in the Local Shops - Prime program requires accurate inventory management and faster fulfilment processes. We recommend the following best practices to help you succeed in the program:

  • Check product details and have inventory quality checked.
  • Restock your low inventory items to avoid stock outs.
  • Retrieve orders at regular intervals; ensure all orders are shipped on or before the ‘Ship by’ date to avoid auto cancellations.
  • Update correct carrier name and tracking details in Seller Central.
  • Work with your carrier to ensure orders are delivered by the promise date.
  • Monitor and action all notifications including email and SMS from Amazon.
  • Use Amazon provided tools and Seller Central to track and process your orders.
