Revision of your Local Shops delivery coverage FAQ

Why was my Local Shops delivery coverage revised?

To ensure that you are able to meet the delivery promise to customers on your Local Shops orders, we recommend that you configure only those PIN codes in Local Shops delivery coverage where you can meet the delivery promise of Same-day, One-day or Two-day delivery speeds. In case we notice that it is difficult for you to meet promised delivery timelines to a subset of PIN codes based on your previous Local Shops orders, we will nudge you to disable these PIN codes from your Local Shops delivery coverage. If you do not disable these PIN codes within 2 days of our e-mail nudge, then we will disable them from your Local Shops delivery coverage to ensure that customer experience is not impacted. This will help you to provide better customer experience, as you will only get Local Shops orders from PIN codes where you have consistently met promised delivery timelines and will find it easier to do so in future based on your historical delivery timelines.

Can I add PIN codes to my coverage for Local Shops orders?

You can always enable PIN codes that you want to service by visiting Self-Ship Shipping Settings. Please ensure that you are able to meet the delivery promise to the customer for areas within the coverage to avoid an adverse impact on your performance metrics and potential loss of Prime badge on your selection.

Why is it important to meet the delivery promise to customers?

Local Shops orders delivered after the promised delivery date negatively impact your On-Time Delivery Rate (OTDR) metric for Local Shops. You must configure delivery PIN codes for Same-day, One-day or Two-day delivery speeds based on your delivery capabilities and agreement with carrier partners to ensure that customer experience is not impacted as a result of delayed deliveries. To retain your Local Shops eligibility, you must maintain a cumulative OTDR of at least 97% on your Local Shops shipments across all PIN codes that you have chosen to include in your coverage.

Will I receive a notification if my coverage is revised?

Yes, you will be notified via e-mail on your registered e-mail ID.

Where can I see the list of all PIN codes that were removed?

To view the list of PIN codes that were removed from Same-day, One-day or Two-day delivery, please go to Custom Business Reports or click the link in the e-mail notification sent to your registered e-mail ID.

Can I still enable my offers for customers from the PIN codes that were removed?

If you still want to receive Self-Ship orders from customer PIN codes that were removed from your delivery coverage, then we recommend that you configure these PIN codes for Standard or Expedited Delivery option that will allow a relaxed delivery promise. To learn more about PIN code configuration, please go to Self-Ship Shipping Settings.

Will the changes be made to all Local Shops templates?

Yes, we will revise PIN code coverage on all Local Shops templates. However, you can continue to offer Standard or Expedited Delivery speeds on them that allow a relaxed delivery promise.

My PIN code coverage was incorrectly revised. What can I do?

You can write to localshops@amazon.com from your registered e-mail ID with the reason as to why you believe that the PIN codes were incorrectly removed. We will get back to you in 2-4 business days.
