Amazon will proactively reimburse sellers for the following cases:
For customer return shipment which is not returned to sellers even after 30 days from the refund date, Amazon will reimburse sellers proactively within 50 days from the refund date.
For orders with replacement or exchange being placed, if the original orders are not returned to sellers even after 30 days from the replacement or exchange ship date, then Amazon will reimburse sellers proactively within 50 days from the date when the replacement or exchange order was shipped.
For orders, which are declared as “Damaged” and “Damaged-Disposed-Off” by Amazon/LSP (Logistics Service Provider) wherein the fault is not attributable to seller, Amazon will reimburse proactively within 50 days from the refund date.
Refer below for more details on the product value to be reimbursed.
For orders lost in transit, Amazon may at its sole discretion reimburse sellers based on the fair market value of the lost product (as more particularly defined hereinafter). While determining the reimbursement market value, the product taxes applied on the order and any applicable selling on Amazon (SOA) fees (including the closing fees) are deducted from the fair market value.
Effective reimbursement value = (Effective reimbursement value1) x [(Fair market value of unit) – (Amazon SOA and fees)]
1 Only for orders that get damaged in transit, Amazon may at its sole discretion, reimburse the seller based on the above mentioned factor or the effective reimbursement rate. Refer to the effective reimbursement rate values here; Effective reimbursement rate is 100% for orders lost in transit.
*Fair market value is a dynamic input based on an algorithm computed by Amazon, keeping a number of factors in mind, used to calculate and determine what could amount to a fair price for the unit. This may include your current sales, past sale and category averages.
This policy is applicable only for shipments where Amazon is responsible for the return or reverse logistics.
For returns that are self-shipped by the buyer, sellers can file a SAFE-T claim after 30 days but within 60 days from the return request date. For more information, go to SAFE-T policy.
The reimbursement amount determined are final and inclusive of any taxes (as applicable). No extra reimbursements over the rates defined in the SAFE-T policy will be given for any particular disposition or damage type.
For individual items with the fair market value greater than INR 25,000 or in general, we recommend the sellers to consider third-party insurance. You may insure the shipments entrusted for carriage to the LSP at your own cost and expense.
At any point in time, if a seller is identified to have breached the terms of these return and refund policies or are found to be engaged in any fraudulent activity to avail such refund, then Amazon will retain the right to recover such reimbursement amounts or take any action against the seller as per the terms of Amazon Services Business Solutions Agreement, or both.
