Total Late Dispatch Rate

Total Late Dispatch Rate: Total Late Dispatch Rate (TLDR) includes all orders that are ship-confirmed (dispatched) after the ship date as a percentage of total orders over a specific time period. It applies to orders fulfilled across all delivery channels. It is important to confirm the shipment of orders by the expected ship date so that customers can see the status of their shipped orders online. Shipment of orders that are confirmed late may lead to increased claims, negative feedback and/or customer contacts and negatively impact customer experience.

If you are a pure FBA seller, then you TLDR will always be 0.

Example: If seller ship-confirms or late dispatches 5 orders (order ids) against a total of orders received across multiple fulfillment channels, then Total Late Dispatch Rate is 5 %.

Why are order late shipped/dispatched by the seller perceived negatively?

Every order late shipped/dispatched leads to very poor customer experience. It is important to ensure that products should be dispatched by expected shipment date. High TLDR can also impact your ability to sell.

How Total Late Dispatch Rate is different Late Dispatch Rate/Late Shipment Rate?

Total Late Dispatch Rate is the percentage of orders late shipped by sellers to the total number of orders received during a specific period where as Late Shipped Rate/Late Dispatch Rate is a metric which shows percentage of seller fulfilled late shipped orders to the total number of orders received. Late Shipment Rate only applies for seller fulfilled orders whereas Total Late Dispatch Rate is calculated for all orders irrespective of the delivery channel.

Tips to improve Total Late Dispatch Rate: Below are some of the tips suggested by Amazon to improve Total Late Dispatch rate:

  • List only those items you will be able to ship by or before the expected ship date.
  • Ship orders and confirm the shipment with Amazon by the expected ship date provided in the order details.
  • Confirm a shipment promptly to notify Amazon and the buyer of the shipment. The longer you delay confirming shipment, the greater the risk that you'll forget. Unconfirmed shipments will be cancelled, and even if you did ship the order, you will not be paid. Learn how to confirm shipments.
  • Review your order fulfilment processes to identify and resolve any deficiencies that can result in late shipments.
  • Adjust your handling times when necessary to provide buyers with realistic delivery times. Learn more about handling and delivery times.
