Amazon stole money, refund without return
I had a buyer place a $1000 order. I shipped it with signature required. Buyer was incompetent and did not know how to do this and did not sign for the shipment nor go to the Post Office to pick it up. The Post Office eventually initiated the return and maybe some day I will receive this back.
I contacted the buyer 2 times with instructions on how to retrieve their shipment. They ignored those.
They opened an A-Z claim and won. Amazon stole $1000+ from my account despite me not having this order returned. It may return someday, it may not...who knows? But, I am out $1000 AND I am out the $37 shipping for this order.
This is horrible treatment! I have appealed this decision, but fat change of winning this.
Any help or advice? Why do seller suffer for ignorance of buyers?

Why wouldn't it be refunded? It wasn't delivered, whether the buyer didn't pick it up or not, they didn't receive it. Did you use Buy Shipping through Amazon? If it was at the post office and they initiated the return, then your issue is with them.

Even customer taken the item and said did not received and Amazon refund the customer without asking me, amazon is losing seller trust. the amazon sellers are shifting to other platform

You should be able to track the package being returned to you. If you used Amazons BUY Shipping you might be able to see it there as well or contact the post the post office for the return tracking number. There is no way that that package is just floating around. File a claim online with USPS and make sure to put all the info and the amount. If USPS lost the package they will refund you and issue a check for the lost goods.

This is typical Amazon. They do this all the time. Its part of the game of selling on this platform.

I don't side with some of Amazon's policy's either, but they did not steal your money in any way shape or form, It is your job to get this product to the buyer, you should of called the buyer and instructed him how to pick up the package. This is 100% your fault not Amazon's. If I sold someone a item for a 1000 dollars I would be on top of this, The post office usually holds the items for days before returning it. Don't blame your incompetence on Amazon. The item will definately be returned to you, but not only will you be out the shipping fees but also the Amazon commisions. Just use this as a lesson to not be lazy and be on top of your business.

I would add, don't sell expensive items on AMAZON. It's a temptation the dishonest can't forgo(or the temptation transforms the honest into dishonest)..In the past, anything over $200(don't have titles over that threhold presently) , we shipped certified mail-and inform the customer via AMZ messaging
If tracking doesn't show it's being returned(usually takes approx. 36 hours to reflect in tracking) you should immediately contact the recipients P.O., make certain the parcel is on it's way.
Some dishonest buyers wait till the price is refunded; then rush to the P.O.to pick up the item!!

If it is in a USPS facility somewhere you need to contact USPS. Amazon definitely won't do anything since, as far as they are concerned, there is more you can do. You need to tell USPS to return the product to you. You may have to pay shipping again but I would think paying a small shipping fee would be worth getting your $1,000 package back. If USPS can't find it they should be able to refund you the $1,000 since it's debatable whether the buyer screwed up or the post office did. Always try literally everything you can before you contact Amazon and ask for help. Currently this is a USPS issue not an Amazon issue as far as Amazon will see it.

If a buyer opens an A-z claim and tracking shows 'Return to Sender, ' Amazon will always refund the buyer; they don't wait for the item to actually be returned. It's similar to Refund and First Scan (RFS).
If you do not receive it, then Amazon's policy is that you need to file a claim with the Carrier.
What does tracking say? It should give you details on where the package is or when it will be returned/delivered.

Technically you are only out your cost for the item and the $37 shipping charge, assuming that your cost for the item was considerably less than $1000.
Amazon's assorted commissions would have been roughly $200 and they will have to eat that.
A good perspective is to not assume that you made money on a sale until the dust has cleared and the customer has been quiet for a while.

Hello @Seller_vjSou74UNe07P:
Tiff here from Amazon. I wanted to connect with you and follow the appeal on this order. I have already been able to identify the order number you're describing within your account and can see that it is still under review.
I know it can be frustrating to deal with these situations as they arise. Since many of our sellers may also be buyers at some point, I want to encourage respectful discussions when talking about buyers. Comments about a buyer's competence can be hurtful and we want to encourage building a safe community for all.
Over the coming days, I'll monitor the appeal outcome and check in with you again. Based on the decision, if you would like any assistance with exploring further appeals, please let me know.
