Enlisting a Generic Product Under a New Trademarked Brand – Need Clarification
Hello everyone,
I currently have a product listed on Amazon under the "Generic" brand. I’ve now applied for a trademark under “Actual Use” for this same product and plan to proceed with Brand Registry once the trademark is approved.
I understand that according to Amazon’s policy, the brand name on an existing “Generic” listing cannot be changed to a trademarked brand after the fact.
Given this, I have the following question:
Once my trademark is approved and I complete Brand Registry, can I create a new listing for the same item under my registered trademark and brand name, while keeping the original “Generic” listing active as well?
In other words, the same product would be listed twice — once under “Generic” (as originally listed) and once under the new trademarked brand. Yes/No
If this is allowed:
Are there any specific conditions or limitations I should be aware of?
Is there any timeline requirement to list the same item as new product (Under brand name ) once the trademark or Brand Registry is in place?
I want to ensure full compliance with Amazon’s policies and appreciate any guidance or shared experiences from fellow sellers.
Thanks in advance!

Yes, that is possible but ONLY if your "Generic" listing neither shows nor mentions your brand. That is a violation. Of course each listing has its own FNSKU which is not the same.

@Seller_rI7BZIczK8iAC already provided you great advice above but I wanted to add a little more!
As there is no requirement to list the newly branded product at all, there also is no time limit for listing the branded item!
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
