Send to Amazon will replace Send/Replenish Inventory on September 1

On September 1, 2022, Send to Amazon will replace the Send/Replenish Inventory workflow as part of our ongoing efforts to make shipment creation simpler and more flexible.

Important dates

  • August 31 is the last day on which you can create shipments using Send/Replenish Inventory.
  • Starting from September 1, the old workflow will no longer be available. All new FBA shipments must be created either in Send to Amazon or with the Amazon Marketplace Web Service API or Selling Partner API.

Send to Amazon features

Thousands of FBA sellers already use Send to Amazon, our streamlined shipment-creation workflow. The updated workflow lets you do the following:

  • Save time: Create shipments with simplified steps that include training videos.
  • Add SKUs more easily: Send to Amazon has integrated with SKU Central, where you can view information about sales, pricing, inventory, shipment history and fees.
  • Create multiple shipments: Select multiple fulfilment centres for each SKU that you want to send, and create multiple shipments in the same workflow.
  • Get recommendations: For FBA SKUs, Send to Amazon recommends fulfilment centres and quantities for shipments.

Starting from today, when you create shipments from Manage Inventory, Manage FBA Inventory or Restock Inventory, you will be directed to Send to Amazon automatically. You can also access Send to Amazon from your Shipping Queue. You can continue to access the old workflow for new shipment creation until August 31.

For more information, please go to FBA shipment creation changes to Send to Amazon.

I am not happy with the new STA process as it does not offer the flexibility of changing the boxes after the shipment is created. Since during the creation of the shipment, I am not sure in how many boxes, I have have the shipments and it can change by the time shipment is ready to be delivered and it does not allow to change the box count once the shipment is created. I have given numerous feedback on this but no response. Does any one else have the same problem ??

Dear Amazon and fellow sellers,

In the new FBA shipment workflow (Send to Amazon), when we try and enter the weight of individual boxes, its not allowing weight in decimals which was allowed in old workflow.

e.g. - if we are sending 2 boxes the weight of one box is 10.2 kgs and next one 10.4 kgs…the workflow is allowing only to enter either 10 or either 11 kgs as weight.

Questions - In the earlier workflow, the entries were allowed in exact decimal points, and the charges which were charged were (as per above example) 10.2 + 10.4 = 20.6 kgs rounded off to 21 kgs shipment charges.

But in the new workflow if we enter 11+11 then the charges are 22 kgs.

Question 1 = Please clarify what should be the weight entered for the boxes if we have multiple boxes of different weight and size,
Question 2 = And how the charges will be calculated.

New shipment workflow is not good at all, too many complications and issues. Don’t know who is designing these faulty processes without having the ground knowledge at sellers end.
