Fraudulent Account Verification phone call from Amazon???
Anyone experienced a phone call from Amazon saying that there was a suspicious activity and urgent action needed for verification ?
Had a call today saying that there was some suspicious login attempts on my account and so I need to urgently follow the instructions on text message sent by them otherwise they will terminate my seller account... I ended call, haven't provided that person any details. Then I've checked my account asking amazon Account Health Assurance to call me directly and was told that nothing is going on that is probably was a scam to try to get my personal data or something else...
Strange thing...

You were right to end the call. It had all the hallmarks of a serious scam which many people have fallen victim of.

That is the time to hang up, if you haven't already.
They do. Frequently.
This is easily available to anybody. There is nothing secret about it.
Why would Amazon want your phone number when they have it already?
Well done, both of you. We all need to stay alert at all times and keep abreast of new scamming techniques and methods.

I've suggested this to Amazon at round tables before. It would be so easy to implement a two form authentication in seller central, when Amazon call you could click on a section of seller central and have the associate read a code back to you which would instantly verify we were really speaking to Amazon. These scams are common place we've had several attempts ourselves. If there was a will to fix this you could easily kill these scams.

Hello. Did you maybe managed to obtain any further information?
Just wanted to confirm that my seller account is still there and hasn't been suspended so I'm more convinced now that it was just a scammers

Hello @Seller_Qrqi3Gr1D0qyYand @Seller_jGVxVIjqaXgJJ,
I checked with Account Health and Account Compromise team and they both confirmed that they don´t see any call from Amazon on that day. Sharing with you the guidance received by them:
"Please advise the sellers not to provide any type of information related to their account. Amazon is not going to call them to request any type of data. Also they can check if the information received is actually from Amazon checking the contacts done through Seller Central. Please ask sellers to not follow any instructions, hung up and call AHS directly via CMN in SC to report that and check their accounts with us"
Kind regards,
Sarah.

Hello @Seller_zU5jbQbNYI4DB,
it is indeed a good idea and would avoid scams.
Currently, if a seller isn't comfortable sharing their email address, they can request to continue the conversation through a pin code which is sent by Amazon in their Seller Central account.
This could be a good option to consider when you are not sure about a call's legitimacy.
