brand approval vs. category approval

If you are brand approved, does that also mean that you are approved in the category? Or how do you submit approval for a specific category? When requesting approval there is no option to select brand vs. category approval. The form seems to be pre-determined based on the item. Any help appreciated.

Amazon does NOT Brand approve you. You need a LOA from the brand to list on Amazon. They can only ok it from their end, but assume you got your LOA

Howdy there @Seller_GEKZFFSZa3DZF- thanks for asking this here on the forums! Being brand-approved does not necessarily indicate you will be approved by Amazon to sell in the category that item is mapped to. The steps for applying for approval, among lots of other helpful information, is located in this help page, and pasted here:

From the Seller Central Home page, click Catalog and select Add Products.

  1. Search for the item you want to sell.
  2. In the search results, click Show limitations link next to the item.
  3. Click Apply to sell to begin the application process.

You might also find this page which overviews different categories relevant as you look to complete an application for a specific category!

I hope this helps but let me know if you have any other questions on this.

Thanks,

Danny
