Owner passed away need to change bank details and account owner but account is deactivated

Hello please help!

I need to verify the bank account to reactivate the account and I cannot add a new bank details and it's forcing me to add under account owner. Unfortunately the account owner already passed away and so the company is now named after a different person hence a different bank account. How should I fix this?

PS. there is no customer support when account is deactivated and I cannot change any account information and I need to!

Based on my observations from your post, we understand you are seeking support to update account owner's details with bank account information.

Whenever you add or change your bank account information, a three-day security hold goes into effect. Fund transfers cannot be initiated until the hold expires, including those from any settlement cycles that close during the hold period. We recommend that you do not update your bank account within three days of your next regularly scheduled disbursement to avoid any delays in payments. Only the primary account owner can make changes related to payment information.

Proves that having an active succession plan in place is almost critical to long term protection on your account. I wish they had a setting for that in the event of an unforeseen death....maybe a designated person to take over as admin on the account in the event of a death, provable by death certificate or official published notice or something.

Unfortunately,@Seller_aEzr9PjpfpuxNis correct. Amazon accounts are not transferable. Not that I agree with the policy, but this Seller Help page discusses the subject.

Can I transfer my seller account?

"Seller accounts generally are not transferable. Seller accounts provide access to the tools and resources that sellers use to list their products and manage their orders. Seller accounts also include account activity history and buyer feedback. Every seller on Amazon must have a seller account and an agreement with Amazon that establishes the terms under which the seller lists and sells their products.

If the ownership of a business changes for any reason, the new owner must establish a new seller account.

If the ownership of a business is not changed, but the individuals responsible for managing the seller account have changed, you can add users to the account. For more information, see Set User Permissions."

You do not say what "standing" you have with the account. If a business owner passes, then there is a probate proceeding and the account would be the property of the estate. It would also depend upon the succession plan the business has, i.e. if it has a board of directors, officers, etc. If it is a one person operation then you are likely out of luck and need to set up your own account and have your own business. You cannot just assume someone else's business, take the name or whatever you think you are doing.
