New External Product ID

Hi,I am trying to list my products. How do I get an external product ID? So external product ID can be an ASIN, UPC or GTIN? As I see similar products on Amazon, they all have different ASINs. Do I have to buy an ASIN for each different item? I will have many different items. Thank you.
