The Amazon Great Indian Festival and similar offers or promotions often seem misaligned with the best interests of sellers. While these events are marketed as opportunities to increase sales, they tend to impose significant pressures on sellers like us.

One of the most concerning practices is the way Amazon automatically applies or suggests deep discounts—sometimes as high as 10%, 20%, or even over 60%—to ASINs by default. Once we participate, the discounted price frequently gets recorded as the new base price, which affects future selling prices. This leads to a continuous erosion of our margins, further decreasing profitability over time.

Moreover, we also observed an increase in product theft this time, especially from ATS and other logistics staff. While theft during such events has been a recurring issue, it escalated during this festival, adding further financial losses beyond the already challenging discounts.

These practices not only suppress sellers but make it incredibly difficult to sustain a healthy business model. Moving forward, it’s essential that Amazon considers more transparent and fair practices that allow sellers to benefit from these festivals without losing their footing in the marketplace.

Amazon Sell means:

MORE Fraud by Customer and Courier Guys.

MORE Claim Rejection than normal days.

MORE returns after SALE because customers will order unwanted things and after SALE when they realize it they start to return and Amazon will accept all these false returns.

MORE LOSS FOR SELLERS

HAPPY SALE

From 2023, it's a good lesson learnt that for any seller to survive and make a living in this competitive market, they cannot cannot cannot rely on One marketplace but need to have their foot set in more marketplaces.
