Product Brcodes SKU's dimensions size

New to Amazon! My SKU/barcodes have been created, through GS1 US however I'm not sure what size/dimensions the SKU has to be in order for it to be accurately read. My product is attached to a 3" x 3" cardboard tag. I'm not sure if I should add the SKU to the back of the product tag OR place it as a label on the cello envelope the product will be placed in.

Assistance would be greatly appreciated, as my printer is on hold until I clarify what the SKU size should be.

Thanks!

Hi @Seller_Qqhh9QRYEdYwK,

According to Amazon's 'Use Amazon barcodes to track inventory' help page (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G200141490), your barcode labels should be printed in black ink on white, non-reflective labels with removable adhesive. The dimensions of the barcode label should be between 1 x 2 inches and 2 x 3 inches. This ensures that the barcode is large enough to be easily scanned.

As for placement, you have a couple of options. You can place the barcode on the back of the 3" x 3" cardboard tag if there's enough space and the surface is flat. Alternatively, you can place it on the cello envelope, as long as the barcode remains scannable and isn't placed on a curve or corner. It's important to ensure that the barcode is not obstructed by any packaging materials and that there is sufficient white space around it (0.25 inches on the sides and 0.125 inches on the top and bottom).

I hope this helps, and best of luck with your new venture on Amazon!

Best regards, Michael
