Dear Team,

I would like to express my concern regarding our status as a direct subsidiary of A&D Medical. We are seeking full rights for our brand registry; however, our brand registry page also displays "Shop Stoppers," which is a clothing brand. This overlap is preventing us from obtaining full rights, making necessary changes to our mapped products, creating variants, and adding new listings. As a result, we are unable to effectively manage our branding and run sponsored advertisements. Please address this issue and connect us with the appropriate resources for resolution. Thank you.

Our guidelines for contacting Selling Partner Support state that duplicate cases should not be created. In this article, we will cover what a Brand Authorization Letter is and how it helps you sell with Amazon.

A Letter of Authorization is a license agreement between an owner of a trademark/design patent/copyright and a third-party seller to authorize that the third party (licensee) can use the Intellectual Property (IP), in exchange for consideration. Such an agreement outlines the ways in which the licensee may use the property owned by the licensor.

Licensing is beneficial for IP owners, as it allows them to generate revenue out of their property by making it available to others. The benefit to the seller is that the license agreement allows you to list your products using the intellectual property rights of other entities with their permission, subject to the terms of the agreement.

Considerations for sellers who need to provide a Letter of Authorization in order to sell with Amazon:

1. The Letter of Authorization is usually only granted to businesses/sellers large enough to buy in bulk from the brand.

2. If the brand isn't on the restricted categories list, consider contacting them to find out what their minimum purchase order is to get registered as a distributor. Be sure to get a Letter of Authorization from the brand for use with Amazon at that point, and ensure the letter is up to date.

We have registered our brand in brand registry of amazon account. But one of the seller 7 Stream have mapped on my listing. That seller is selling the products of my brand. Also, they are reducing the rate very drastically beyond control which is directly impacting us. When we order their products, they are sending wrong and sub standard products which may spoil our brand reputation. How to sort out this issue?. Kindly help.

I've been trying to get clear guidance on how brand gating works for FBM sellers under Amazon Brand Registry, but responses from support have been vague and generic.

From what I understand, Amazon suggests reporting unauthorized sellers when issues arise, but there doesn’t seem to be a proactive way to control who can sell under our brand.

Does this mean we have to wait for a violation before Amazon will take action?

Additionally, do brand owners have the right to approve or decline sellers who want to sell our products or map to our listings? Or does Amazon decide this without our input? If there is a process for this, why isn’t it clearly outlined in Brand Registry?

I feel this issue is often sidelined without a transparent solution, and I’d like to hear from other brand owners on how they’ve handled it.
