Intellectual Property Violation for a common USED book???
How does one proceed with such stupidity? I'm selling a common used book for only $7.00, and I suddenly get this threat about Intellectual Property violation? I removed the listing since the book was so cheap anyway. But seriously, Amazon? I have the same book offered on two other sites with no issue at all.

Given Amazon's stance on IP infringement (as a result of real threats from many manufacturers and publishers) this is no longer a good market to sell used media. Amazon is doing this overly broad enforcement as a CYA (Cover Your A--) to avoid legal action. Do not expect anything to change. Sell on other sites.

Hello @CH_BooksGalore,
Thank you for reaching out. The type of Intellectual Property Infringement is important here, as the type of IP claim you received will determine next steps. It sounds like you received a Copyright Infringement, is that right?

First off to clarify, a violation for Intellectual Property Infringement comes from the Rights Owner of the intellectual property filing a complaint on your listing - Not from Amazon. Have you reviewed the Performance Notification we sent out? In the notification we included:
- The Name of the Rights Owner that filed the complaint on your listing
- Contact details of the Rights Owner
- The Copyrighted content
- Infringement type
- Complaint ID
Next steps will be determined by your dispute or acceptance of this infringement, as a copyright violation has very specific action needed. An important resource to be reviewed for intellectual property violations can be found here.
If you believe you are not infringing on the rights owner’s copyright you also have the option of filing a DMCA counter-notice. Key details on the procedure for submitting a counter-notice pursuant to the DMCA can be found here
I hope these points provide guidance on your options in addressing this copyright complaint, feel free to post here with your resolution or if any additional questions arise.
Best,
Sonny
