Why does Seller Support even exist?
Why does Seller Support even exist?
No really - they don't do anything. Why is Amazon paying these people to just say "no" to everything?
I'd give an example here, with plenty of detail about what needs to be fixed on this ASIN I'm dealing with - But what is the point? The mods here are seemingly just as incapable of fixing things these days. I've written super detailed posts with logic and reason - and I'm usually just ignored altogether.
Why is this place such a joke?

Hi there @Seller_rFyxk4x2i2V6L,
While there are instances in which Seller Support might be able to fix details about a product, in general these submissions must be made by Sellers and if the contributions are from Brand Owners, it may not be possible for those changes to be implemented from a non-Brand Owner. While you might have really strong reasoning, Amazon prioritizes the requests and contributions from Brand Owners as experts. However if you provide your most recent Case on this issue I can investigate and see what options exist. Thank you for your understanding.

I have gone through similar things, I don't bother to submit cases anymore since in the past they would just close them "without resolution".
Post in the forums & hope another seller can help, figure it out yourself or live with it. At some point we will have had enough & move on.

I've had nearly no luck with seller support. (In reality, using the terms "seller" + "support" together when referring to Amazon is laughable.) Amazon's so called seller support is pretty much completely incompetent these days. This is because Amazon resents and hates their sellers. We are a burden to them, in their eyes. They wish they could completely get rid of us. Amazon could care less whether your issues are solved or not, so they put their lowest intellect workers on that.
The mods are a different story. They want to help. They see our struggles. Sometimes they can help. Sometimes now so much. There are issues there. 1) sometimes it is hard to get an overworked mod's attention. They are stretched thin. They are of course stretched thin because there is no seller support anymore. 2) even the mods get stonewalled by other departments. I've spoken about this to an ex-Amazon moderator who no longer works for Amazon.
In a nutshell, Amazon does not care about you or I. If Amazon can save a few dollars and all it means is that sellers' lives are turned into an ungodly h3llish nightmare.. Then Amazon will save that money and to h3ll with the sellers.

A wise old former Amazon seller once told me, "Amazon's Default is to Protect the Platform, Not the Seller"
Amazon’s policies are often enforced conservatively, prioritizing risk mitigation over fairness or clarity for its sellers. This leads to over-enforcement, especially when dealing with automated systems or policy flags.
Many sellers feel like they’re being punished for trying to follow Amazon’s rules, that's what I feel when I read the hundreds of seller complaints here — and when they reach out for help, the support channels often fail to provide informed or actionable assistance. This disconnect is exactly why the seller forums are filled with complaints, confusion, and appeals for peer guidance from anyone in the community, not just Mods, who can (genuinely) help with their issues. Sellers feel alone, frustrated and angry. The seller community as a whole seems outraged at the lack of support and the injustice they feel when struggling to resolve, what appears to be, very unfair and often one-sided polices.
We all hear you, Rocket_Robot_Toys!!!

20 years ago Amazon worked. 10 years ago Amazon worked. 5 years ago Amazon somewhat worked. It's just chaos and a time suck the last few. Just got hit with another 12 "restricted product violations" with made up allegations. Products that have been listed for 12 years. Appealed a few and of course just get low IQ responses back. We've already dealt with literally thousands.
So...easier to just delete the 700 similar SKUs and make sure they are listed at Walmart and Target because I know I'll have to go through the BS time and time and time again here and get no where with support and account health. Sorry Amazon, you violated our "wasting our time policy" and have lost your ability to offer these products to your customers. Then again, maybe Amazon is just trying to help us focus on our listings at Walmart so we can take advantage of the 75k in seller incentives they are offering. That's gotta be it! Thank-you, Amazon! You really do care!

Agreed that they usually try to help - but also see some of the same insanity in some of their comments from time to time. Would be interesting to actually hear from Bezos to see if he knows what a nightmare things have become over the years. Not that he cares, but still would be telling.
