Generic world Trademarked

Hey Fellow sellers,

A seller has registered a generic term example if i am selling Rosemary Soap , he has trademarked the word soap and has filled a trademark infringement on almost 20 of my best seller listings.

Although i understand that he has a trademark but is it possible to Trademark such generic word? Also the seller is not issuing a recon on his actions.

Amazon team is asking for a Letter of Authorization which is not possible due to the generic nature .

Any way to bring back the listings or acknowledgement is the only option?

Thanking for guys in Advance.

Please be more precise with the information. The word "SOAP" cannot be trademarked. Any general word like it cannot be trademarked under normal condition. There are exceptions however, Apple is registered even it is same word as apple. But it would not be registered under Class 31.

If you want other sellers to comment and understand your problem, best is to be informative and to the point.
