Amazon keeps changing my product types:

Hello!

My entire store is ONLY collectibles, i.e US Mint coins. Everything is ONLY in the collectible category. For the last few months, suddenly my listings are getting suppressed one after the other, with the category being changed to "Other Toys and Collectibles." I've had an INSANELY difficult time trying to get help from Seller Support; they continuously put me on hold and then hang up on me, they say they will get me over to the "inner catalogue team" and then hang up on me; other times, they say they will help me, have to hang up because certain changes take time to take effect, and then when they update the case some other agent takes over and says the completely wrong thing and derails any help I was about to be given!

I've had this solved once before already, reference ID: 16525874901. This agent was very dedicated to help me and recognized this was a problem on Amazon's end, and lifted the suppression on my listings and changed the product types back to collectibles like they should be. But everyone else keeps saying the same thing like robots - asking for a brand. There is no brand, they are asking for that because whatever system on Amazon changed my product category over, has it as toys and games so of course they think there should be a brand. I've explained this so many times and this STILL isn't solved. Now 2 more listings have been altered and another was removed. I can't get any help with this issue and the number of my listings amazon keeps changing keeps growing. I THOUGHT I was going to finally get help - reference ID#17063860561. The agent Karla was helping me and told me she would stay in this case and continue to help me with it, but of course she didn't; they are saying the product details aren't there, but they are. Karla had told me for some reason they weren't there on the back end, even though she could clearly see them on my page. I can't get away from this constant issue that Amazon is suddenly causing, and I can't get anyone competent enough to fix it other than that original agent who helped me. (asin's B07QX2KR9T, B0D7ZC6M9M, B0CYM6HMBF, B00MPYWU34, B0CQZ8J3W6 and B0D33R4HY6 were in this new ticket)

Please can any support here assist me in getting my product categories changed back to Collectibles? That is the only real issue here, that is what all this is stemming from, and only Amazon can change those.

Hi @Seller_dP8mOi5MFxuSk,

I understand your frustration with this situation. Looking through the help pages, I found some information that might help (though you're probably familiar with much of this as an experienced coins seller):

According to https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/GXMA2QU3JZTG8JNL, Amazon's system automatically categorizes products based on attributes like title, product description, and bullet points. Sometimes this automatic categorization can be incorrect.

For collectible coins, Amazon requires specific information in listings (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G200164450):

  • Numismatic preservation
  • Country of circulation
  • Clear image
  • Condition
  • Grader and Grade
  • Date of issue
  • Metal composition
  • Purity (if monetized bullion)

Might be worth checking if all these details are present in your listings, though the issue seems more likely on Amazon's end since you've had this resolved before (case #16525874901).

It's good that you've included your case IDs - this will help moderators look into and potentially escalate your case.

Kind regards, Michael

Oh I meant "Other Toys and Games" not collectibles, for what they are changing my categories to.

Well no surprise here I won't get assistance from someone in the forums, or through calling seller support. This issue is ruining all my lists, and my store. But I'm a small business, so I'm sure I don't matter anyway.

Amazon seems to think that my industrial automation products are children's toys. Guess millions of American toddlers love to play with industrial equipment check valves.

Oh well, Amazon is all knowing. Who are we to second guess the all knowing Amazon destructo-BOTS? Soon food will be pesticide, pesticide will be food, auto parts will be iPhone accessories..

ya amazon keeps merging 2 of my products together which uses 1 of their photos and the other description, so I basically lose 100% of those sales when they do it, about every 3-4 months...

Everytime I call in to get this fixed they are always baffled "Amazon changed this without your permission?"

In which case I laugh and wait for my issue to be fixed.

BTW you need to call in the Amazon and ask for the CATALOG team to fix your problem
