Tips to Prepare for Your Identity Verification Video Call
Greetings Sellers!
At different times during your selling journey, you may be asked to complete a video verification call. I would like to go over some helpful tips to ensure that you have the proper documents and that you are set up for a successful call.
It's important to remember that the call must be conducted by the account owner (individual or business owner who registered the account). If anyone else will be attending the interview with you, they must be introduced at the beginning of the call. If the person joining the video call with you is an employee or business partner, please be prepared to provide employment information for them and details as to how they are associated with your account.
You may have the option to join the video call instantly or to schedule days and times for the call to be conducted. Whichever option you have, it is best to join the call from a quiet space with a reliable internet connection. Best practice is to act and dress the way you would in a professional setting. If you schedule the video call for a different date, please take note of the date/time you select as well as the time zone. This will help ensure that you are on time and that you do not miss the interview.
Depending on the reason you have been asked to complete the verification call, you may be asked to provide any of the following documents:
-Identity Document: A government-issued photo identity document that is used to confirm one’s identity, such as a passport or national ID.
-Business Licenses: We require a document that proves that your business is valid, such as a business license or equivalent business document. This is a government issued statement displaying information on your business.
-Proof of address: We collect a proof of address document, such as bank statement or credit card statement. A bank statement is an official document issued by your bank or other financial institution that summarizes your account activity over a certain period of time - typically one month.
-Sourcing Documentation: Which will include invoices, supply chain invoices, letters of authorization and licensing agreements from the brands you sell.
You will be required to have hard copies of your document originals. If you do not have the required document types, this can delay your verification. In order to ensure your documents are not rejected, make sure that they meet the following requirements:
• These invoices should be valid and not expired, revoked, inactive or closed.
• Please ensure that they are high resolution and unobstructed. This includes: clear, readable, visible and in focus.
• Please also ensure that the documentation is not angled or cropped to ensure it is complete and not cut off at any point.
• We will also require that your documents are a scanned image or photograph of the original, we will not accept screenshots.
• You will also need to ensure the full document is visible, this includes front and back of your invoices, if applicable.
• The documents you provide must collectively be less than 50MB. If your total documents exceed this size, you will need to make multiple submissions, or use a case ID to provide all documentation.
• We do have document format requirements for these, please ensure all documents are in the following formats: TIF, TIFF, PNG, JPG, PDF, and JPEG. We will additionally ask that your file names do not include special characters such as- $, &, or #.
• Documentation should be authentic and unaltered. You may highlight an ASIN on the documents for ease of review.
• We will be unable to open any password-protected documents, please review your documentation prior to submission to ensure we can verify your information.
• Documents should be in one of our supported languages: Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Tamil, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese. If your documents are not in a supported language, you must submit a notarized translation in a supported language along with the original document.
Once the video call is completed the review team will assess the information you provide and the outcome will be sent to you in the form of a performance notification. The review team may also require for you to submit additional information after the interview, on a case by case basis.
