Shipment Rejected "Cross Loaded"

Hi Guys,

hoping you can help. We had an entire load rejected from DTM2 last Thursday.

Carrier was told no space in warehouse and was given a form.

Amazon sent us an email to say it was rejected due to being “cross loaded”.

It’s expensive for us to have the shipment sat with he carrier for so long!

Have included an image of the load, which seems to have moved around a bit on it’s way from the UK.

Looking for insight from anyone with relevant experience. Thanks.

Well, I presume that they mean that they cannot simply access from the back end of the trailer, as the pallets are all skewed.
Though frankly, it sounds like Amazon being Amazon, but it’s more of a problem for your carrier than you.
If they are not providing the pallets in an acceptable condition on the lorry to Amazon, then they are responsible for it.
Pallets should not be able to move around that much on a lorry.

Your shipper is in the wrong here as the reason for refusal is not due to the space in the warehouse. They would have had space but when opened up they have took a photo showing that the pallets have been loaded wrongly and crammed meaning they are interlocked and likely to cause damage when pulling them out.

I think they are being a bit picky with this one (imho) but your shipper needs to take the pallets off, realign them straight and then reattempt

sorry just to add, I think cross loaded is when the pallets have been put in wrong and need turning 90 degrees as the forklifts on certain pallets won’t fit through the holes on the pallet so they can’get them off. It maybe that they were side loaded and trying to get them off at the end.

Thanks Guys, We are feeling that the carrier could have resolved this earlier, simply by correctly loading the vehicle and booking ASAP. I will update this thread if we manage to get it in. Thanks
