Questions about the "re-verification" email / questions
Hello,
I have some questions about the information Amazon is asking for, I have read all the similar forums and can not seem to find any clear answers.
I appreciate any and all information and help...
There are 3 different parts to the re verification - 1st is Business Information / 2nd is Seller Information / 3rd is Verification
Our questions are in regards to the "Seller Information" part, they are asking for residential address BUT we do not have any residential address in our Amazon seller account.
Because our account is a professional business account which is under our LLC, we have never put our residential address from our drivers license on our Amazon account specifically to keep business and personal information separated.
We have our registered LLC business address and our return address.
Our return address is the one that has been verified with the mail Amazon sends with the pin code. (years ago)
Because the address on my drivers license is not on my amazon account anywhere at all, I am thinking we should NOT put my DL address but put the return address for the "Residential address"?!
We are not sure which address we should put for the residential address?
Thank You

Hi,
I am experiencing the same issues. I do not feel comfortable submitting my personal information to Amazon and I do not own Goodwill. I cannot get any answers through the multiple tickets I have submitted either. Not only that, the original point of contact employee was terminated from the company years ago so my information is not going to match her information and at this point I don't even know what was put down for point of contact because I took over this position 2 years after the ecommerce department started up.
We are starting to debate on just closing down our Amazon account and looking into other options for selling our books. This is frustrating, especially with no help from Amazon.

It's not just Amazon tying Business info with Personal.
UPDATED - On January 1, 2021, Congress enacted the Corporate Transparency Act (the “CTA” or the “Act”) as part of the greater National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021. Since then, some actions have been taken towards implementation of the CTA, though not as rapidly as two senators would like.
On December 8, 2021, the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (“FinCEN”) issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (“NPRM”) to implement the Act’s beneficial ownership information reporting provisions. This alert updates our initial alert on the CTA first published on January 12, 2021, to reflect these matters and to add guidance on the Act’s previously undefined terms “other similar entities” and “substantial control.”
The CTA requires certain domestic and foreign companies to disclose beneficial ownership information to FinCEN and establishes information sharing obligations on private businesses (and others) designed to help fight the misuse of corporate structures that facilitate various criminal enterprises, such as money laundering, terrorism, tax fraud, human and drug trafficking and other financial-related criminal acts that are harmful to the national security interests. The CTA will become effective after the Secretary of the Treasury issues regulations implementing the CTA’s requirements; however, a timetable for accomplishing these steps has not been published.
On May 10, 2022, Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) sent a letter to U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Acting Director of FinCEN Himamauli Das criticizing the delayed implementation of the CTA. The Senators wrote: “The Treasury Department has yet to finalize the implementation of the CTA—or even set a timetable for its completion.” While final action will likely not occur until 2023, the regulations when finally in effect will impact millions of entities doing business in the United States that had not previously been subject to information sharing obligations contemplated by the CTA.

How did you open your account without valid I.D.? I'm super confused. As far as I know this has always been a requirement. As someone else stated, it's just like opening your bank account. You need to provide I.D. so they know you aren't opening an account under someone else's name. or using someone else's identity to open/run an account. Both home address and business address is on our account in designated areas.

Hello @Seller_bZZBNdOlpKZgd,
Thank you for your post. My sincere apologies for the frustration that this is causing. We have a large thread going on HERE with FAQs, information about the process and the Inform Act. A lot of sellers are experiencing the same issues, so that would be a great place to checkout.
Please let me know if there is anything else I may be able to assist with.
Cheers,
Micah
