EVERY FBA shipment I send goes to the same FCs, then shipped back towards me.

@Topher_Amazon@Bryce_Amazon I've seen you answer questions on FBA shipping issues but your answers don't address this. My FBA shipments go to the same five FC every time. I'm in WA state, made to ship to the midwest and east coast at often double the cost that a west coast shipment would. If the shipments stayed in that vacinity I would understand but I'm seeing full shipments being sent back to WA state! One I recently sent to NC was redistrib to MI. Why am I stuck with the same midwest and east coast FCs literally every time? Why are full boxes being sent back to closer to me instead of my shipping them directly there in the first place? I was paying on average $0.19 per item, now it's $0.79 to $2.00 per item. I cannot compete with sellers in California who very obviously get much closer FCs. I'm looking for some answers here because FBA is just way too expensive without me getting some FC that are closer. Any insight, help, you can give is much appreciated.

Hi @Seller_7MkPDfvuAAs55,

Thank you for reaching out with this question!

Please note that inbound placements is based on several factors, including the product types and quantities that you have in your shipping plan, your existing inventory levels across our network, and the location of customer demand.

When you create your shipping plan, you can select one of the following inventory inbound placement options:

  1. Minimal shipment splits: You can send your inventory to the minimal number of inbound locations, generally to a single location, for a fee, and we will decide on your behalf how to place the inventory across our network. The fee may vary by inbound location—for example, there may be higher fees for shipments sent to locations in the West versus other parts of the country.
  2. Partial or Amazon-optimized shipment splits: Send your inventory to multiple inbound locations yourself for a reduced or no fee. The reduced fees will depend on the number of shipments and inbound locations that you send your inventory to.

While I unfortunately do not have insights into the exact reason of why your inventory transferred from NC back to WA, I did want to provide you with the general reasoning behind placement locations.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

All the best,

Jameson
