Promise Extensions
Can anyone help explain this to me?

I have my shipping templates set at 2-4 days as I ship everything either FedEx 2day or UPS ground depending on location. I have noticed a lot of my items have added handling times, I have turned off the automation and am going through and fixing them back to zero days. What I don't understand is why Amazon is telling me that I deliver items 3.1 days faster than my guarantee, but yet they add 2.2 days to my promised dates? My transit gap is perfectly set as my promise is 3.8 and I hit 3.0.
All of my items are now showing a week out for delivery. It makes no sense. How can I fix this if the numbers that are currently there shouldn't be an issue in the first place?

Hi @Seller_25835rBG60h0W,
Dominic from Amazon here, happy to look into this further. Do you have a case ID for this I can review?
Best,
Dominic

I would click the "Download report" button to get a spreadsheet of all your orders that are being delivered past your set delivery time. This will give you an idea of which orders/carriers are delivering late based on set delivery time and promise extension delivery time.
You may need to extend the delivery times for zones further away from your shipping location or ship using a faster carrier service to lower the promise extension.
We have tried using automated shipping timeframes to help lower the promise extension, but carriers still deliver late sometimes which affect this metric.

This is very common these days. You will find it especially on any Sfp listing that also has Fba sellers or Amazon themselves. They put extensions on your promise dates so that Fba/ Amazon offers are faster to arrive. That way your offers aren’t featured even though you may be selling for less. Doesn’t matter whether you are using SSA or not.
