Product Browse Node

We are trying to change our product browse node path for a few of our products. For reference they are all the same product just different quantities (ie. 1-pack, 3-pack, and a case of 12-pack) We are also brand registered, own the trademark, and no one else resells or sells this on Amazon but us.

We cant update it through the backend or through file upload as we have tried both before. However, we are constantly told that if we want to change something, we need to go through brand registry. Well we went to brand registry to try and change our browse node path and are told that we cant change it because Amazon has it in the best browse node according to their team of experts.

My question is, why does an amazon team of experts (which is probably just bots) determining where our product is listed? Why can't we have a say in where our product is listed? How do we go about actually changing our browse node path?

@TaylorR_AmazonDo you think you could help with this? I don't know what else to do even asking the brand registry team to escalate it. It's like we have no control over our product

We have had problems with the product browse node as well. It is a bit different from yours, but I imagine is part of some larger glitch.

Our problem is that all of the sudden our products go from having a browsing node, to having none. Our category goes away and our BSR (best seller rank) disappears as well. We go off of all the top ranked in certain categories, to be ranked into nothing.

I have looked at the back end excel and all data for nodes seems in order. I opened a ticket with brand registry and they told me I had no category or browsing node and that I would need to send them the correct node.

I wouldn't have noticed if it were not for sales plummeting out of nowhere. I am still waiting to see if they can recategorize my products. My suggestion to other sellers is to please be on the look out to check and make sure your category or BSR does not disappear as it may be part of this issue (hopefully temporary).

Also, sometimes your category may not be exactly what you think, but believe me, Amazon wants you (hence them) to make the most money so we all do have that going for us. Hopefully you can get your product in the right place.

There is a tool for that. If you go to help page and type "change category" it will show you the tool and ask for the ASIN and the category you want to change it to.. Try there first to submit your request. If that doesn't work, login to your brand registry and open a case there. They are the ones that can verify and change. Sometimes you automatically get rejected but you can ask them to escalate it to internal team that deals with browse nodes. Sometimes it takes several attempts to get through so be patient and keep trying if you get rejected, provided that you are requesting an accurate change. If the category is not correct then your request will not be granted.

Same issue here at our store. All of our products have the wrong node. I would hope we will see some help on this thread.

We have had a few browse node issues over the years, either the algorithm recategorizing products or removing it all together. I have been able to get them updated through the Seller Support but you have to open a case and continue arguing your case until someone understands. I would definitely request a callback during USA business hours so you can get a person on the phone. ASK FOR IT TO BE ESCALATED to the catalog team. Once it is escalated, someone with the capability to update it will be assigned. Persistence is key and some luck thrown in of getting a support agent who understands what you are saying.

Seller fees vary by category, is my first guess. Which is probably why our competitors try to list our lamps in auto parts.

If not, before you do, try editing the “Search Terms” on the listing to reflect the category you want it to be in. Take out any words in the title, description, or search terms that might be linking it to the category that you DON’T want.

I have about 90% Success doing it this way.

BAAHAHAHAHAHA!

Seller support come on we all know some BOT or AI moves stuff around without notifying the seller all the time.

I posted about this a while back:

Lists be clear - Amazon bots change your product type based on AI not on facts
