The SSCC labels identify the following information (varies slightly between SPD and LTL labels):

• FNSKU product / Merchant SKU
• Case quantity
• Date
• The shipment ID

Our factory in China wants to assemble pallets over time, but we don't always have the final shipment details (perhaps we don't know if a certain item will be ready in time or we don't know the carrier choice).

Right now we can't provide SSCC labels until everything is ready, which for a complex shipment adds delays right at the end as well as the logistics of having to re-build pallets.

Will it EVER be possible to create SSCC labels without a shipment? It seems that they ultimately identify the product rather than the shipment. The shipment is really irrelevant.

It would be really nice to be able to create SSCC labels independently of a shipment.

I guess a second thought would be what happens if I provide SSCC labels for a shipment that gets deleted? Are the SSCC labels still valid for the product cases?
