You cannot use "Report Abuse" feature on removed listings.

I am frequently told by Seller Support that I need to use the "report abuse" tool to attempt to fix a hijacked listing.

Here's the problem with that: When the hijacking results in a listing being removed, it is no longer recognized as being in the Amazon Catalog, and the "report abuse" tool doesn't work for items that aren't in the catalog.

You are required to submit an ASIN when you report abuse. But if you submit an ASIN that has had the detail page removed, you get this error:

"The ASIN or URL you entered is not a valid ASIN for any Amazon products in the country you are logged in. Please enter a new ASIN or URL."

So, a couple things:

1) Can we please FIX this so that you can report bad detail page info that has resulted in a detail page removed?

2) Seller Support should stop giving advice that does not work.

It's one of those tools with the same purpose as the weekly questionaire's showing up in central. NOBODY cares what you answer or what you report. Nobody even reads it or looks at it. Certainly NOBODY EVER does anything about it. It's just there so support can send you to use that and get rid of you.

Thanks for reaching out with your difficulties @Seller_IlwjJKqpD81nL,

In general Report Abuse is only for reporting ASINs in violation, and if the ASIN is already removed, the system won't allow the report to go through as there are no other steps.

At this point, the request would be to reach out to Seller Support for assistance in making changes to the detail page. Once the changes are complete you can then appeal the ASIN for reinstatement.

If you have a specific ASIN in question you are having trouble with please provide your most recent Seller Support case and I can reach out to see what options exist.

Additionally I can reach out to the internal teams for Seller Support to provide your feedback on your experience. Thank you for your understanding.
