I've been trying to get clear guidance on how brand gating works for FBM sellers under Amazon Brand Registry, but responses from support have been vague and generic.
From what I understand, Amazon suggests reporting unauthorized sellers when issues arise, but there doesn’t seem to be a proactive way to control who can sell under our brand.
Does this mean we have to wait for a violation before Amazon will take action?
Additionally, do brand owners have the right to approve or decline sellers who want to sell our products or map to our listings? Or does Amazon decide this without our input? If there is a process for this, why isn’t it clearly outlined in Brand Registry?
I feel this issue is often sidelined without a transparent solution, and I’d like to hear from other brand owners on how they’ve handled it.

Has anyone successfully gated their brand before unauthorized sellers appeared? If so, what steps did you take? Looking forward to insights from experienced sellers.

Hi,
After reading your query I have a few things to say :-
1) You need to have a officially registered brand name from the government.
2) That registered brand name will be considered in amazon brand registry. ( And if you don't have a officially registered brand name then you won't be able to register yourself in the below given protection plans )
3) After you have enrolled the brand name in amazon brand registry , you have a few options to protect your brand, A) Transparency programme , B) Project Zero , C) Report a violation.
( On amazon brand registry website you can read in depth about all the protection plans and there working methods )
(P.S. - I feel transparency prog. is a good way to protect your brand on amazon )
And after you have read about all the programmes , all your doubts will be cleared.
And as per my experience and knowledge these are the only available methods to protect your brand on amazon.
Hope this helps
@Seller_3jpvrL8DpCNrZ,
I see that other sellers have already shared lots of useful information and options about how to protect your brand.
Regarding the Transparency Program, I wanted to clarify that it's available for FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant) as well, not only FBA as you mentioned. This might be a good option for you to consider.
Regards,
Sakura
