coupons vs sales price

Hi Fellow Community,

in order to grow my business I use promotions and also apply coupons. And also apply sales price with start date and end date.

recently one amazon manager told me not to mix sales price discounts with promotions and coupons. what is ideally the correct way. please suggest.

The manager seems unsure of his answer,

Hello! @Seller_fDQuoBG6kmkkK

Apologies for the delay on getting back to you. I believe the main thing to avoid is "stacking" multiple discounts that could confuse customers or cause pricing errors.

  • Sales Prices (List Price Discounts) should be used best for longer-term discounts (7-30 days)
  • Promotions are Best for short-term deals (lightning deals, best deals)
  • Coupons - Can be used alongside regular (non-sale) prices - Should not be combined with promotional discounts

In summary, there should be a discount strategy and plan in advance. Use one type of discount at a time.

Hope this helps.
