Net or gross price in SC

Hello!

We are a European seller and new to Amazon USA. So far we have figured nearly everything out, but one point where I am struggeling is which price I need to enter in Seller Central.

In Europe I always enter the gross price. For example if a product costs 20€ net and tax is at 20%, then I enter 20 * 1,2 = 24€ in the field below and Amazon does not add any taxes. This price of 24€ is also shown on amazon on al different marketplcaes. This means that I get a different net price from Amazon depending on the country (e.g., France, Spain, Germany, Austria, ....).

I put a product into my cart on Amazon.com, selected an address in the US (New York) and then sales tax was added later at checkout. The product was 12,88$ + 1,76$ in sales tax. Also a price of 12,88$ was shown on the site of the product on amazon.com.

Does this mean that I have to put a price of 12,88$ in Seller central or a price of 14,64$ (including 1,76$ in taxes)? If so, the tax is different in Florida, California, ...

In my kind of example below with the 24.90$ - this would be the net price, is this correct?

Sorry for this kind of questions, but this is till a riddle to me.

Thank you!

Here you list YOUR price. Amazon collects applicable taxes from the buyer and submits them to authorities.

Put the price without any tax included. Amazon will apply the applicable tax to your price and charge the customer for it

Hello @Seller_4Kjm4sNUgK0sP,

Thank you for posting your inquiry to the Forums.

As others have mentioned here, the buyer pays the taxes collected by Amazon on a product sold. Amazon then remits the collected amounts to the appropriate government authority as Amazon, based on applicable law.

I have included a help page below that provides additional detail on Marketplace Withheld Tax for your reference:

Marketplace Withheld Tax

I hope this helps! Please feel free to update this thread if you have additional questions.
