OTP Issue - Constantly saying 'Please wait at least one minute before requesting another OTP.'
This is a massive longshot and I’m imagining that the answer is going to be a resounding ‘no’ but has anybody encountered an issue logging in to Amazon where Seller Central constantly states ‘Please wait at least one minute before requesting another OTP’ without sending an OTP in the first instance (or indeed allowing us to request another OTP after a minute, or even an hour) has passed?
My problem started last night when I had to change the bank account associated with our EU Seller Accounts (although the UK one stayed the same) due to the bank we were using no longer supporting disbursements from Amazon. As such I swapped Amazon from disbursing in Euro to this German bank account to Sterling in to our conventional UK account (which has been registered with Amazon for 15 odd years) while I found an alternative Euro account.
Everything seemed fine but I woke up this morning and Amazon had gone a bit overboard; they’d suspended all our listings, blocked our logins, switched us in to holiday mode etc. I managed to get logged back in and was made to set up a new password and reassociate my phone number for two step verification which I dutifully did.
Anyway, fast forward a couple of hours and we were logged out of Seller Central and now whenever I try to log back in I put in the user name and password for our primary account I’m instantly I’m told ‘Please wait at least one minute before requesting another OTP’. No attempt is made to send an OTP’. Requesting a replacement OTP (by text or phone) over any timescale presents the same result; an attempt isn’t even made to send me an OTP and there is no box for me to potentially enter one in to if it did.
Our listings are active and we are selling (although I can’t disburse as Amazon wanted me to verify our bank account information) but not being able to log in to our primary login is something of a pain. Fortunately I do have a secondary login which still works but it’s somewhat restricted and being in such a precarious situation doesn’t sit right with me.
I’ve sent off my drivers license so Amazon can remove the two stage authentication but once they do it’ll ask me to set it up again on my first login so this feels like it might be a several day process that gets us no further forward. Have tried on a multitude of computers, Internet connections, browsers etc.
I have spent twelve hours today going back and forth with Seller Support but the advice has bordered on ridiculous so thought I would just reach out to see if anybody else in their Amazon career had experienced something similar and, if so, how was it sorted please?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I think the OTP / cookie thing is all set dynamically by Amazon at their end. Clearing the local config wont do anything except recreate a new cookie which will contain the same variables
My feeling is that you just have to wait it out for it to clear but at the same time ask the moderators @amazon_maya @amazon_winston etc if they can try and progress this for you. I feel that this type of incident may be beyond the scope of frontline SS unless you are really lucky.

Only thing I can add, is that trying to login as a customer today I tried two attempts to get a OTP. Both arrived about 5hrs later. In the end, because I had it setup, I used the Google Authenticator app. Seems there might be a glitch/delay in issuing OTPs.

Thanks for your responses. The OTPs for our secondary account are flying through but when I log in with my primary one it’s not even trying to send nor is it giving us the option to enter an OTP which leads me to believe that it hasn’t been able to try.
The secondary account uses a different phone number so I’m starting to think that perhaps it might be that when the primary account was panic blocked by Amazon that perhaps my phone number was also. That’s just a hunch though based on nothing concrete really.
What’s the etiquette to reaching out to the forum moderators please @Pickle, will they see your tagging them or do you reach out directly?
Thanks again for your help.

Perfect, many thanks. I’ll save off messaging them directly and will hope the tags are enough to alert them to my woes.

Note that the mods won’t spot those tags in the thread, as those aren’t their forum names.@Winston_Amazon and @Maya_Amazon are the right names. They may be able to advise.
And I second the recommendation of an authentication app. Either Google Authenticator or use Authy, which is even on desktop.

Hi yes had this yesterday morning. It’s a particular pain along with the whole constant verification issue. In the end I just gave up and left everything for a couple of hours. Seems ok again now, so good luck .

Yes had this yesterday and after 10.000 messages to SS I had to go through the account recovery process.
Result was our Prime orders were delayed and we now have a ‘your account is at risk of deactivation’ message…nice

I had this problem from 4pm yesterday, could not get code just message there is a problem, but this morning working fine, can you have 2 phone numbers for OTP verification, if yes how do you do this please
Seller_ae51e0CJoHqCX
Yes
I had this exact issue last week, very annoying and worrying. I was logged into another computer at the time which was working fine, but my laptop when trying to log in had this very issue and I was worried that loggingh out on my other computer may prevent me from getting back in and would not be able to complete orders.
Sadly patience got the better of me and after around 8 hours of trying, I decided to contact SS to do a reset etc to take off 2 step verification and refresh. I caused myself more issues that the following morning it started working agin and then my 2 step request came through and I had to go through rather annoying re verification of the 2 step process including uploading ID etc.
I got it sorted eventually but yes it is annoying and seems to be happening a bit.
Just also worth noting about the cookies thing. I tried also to log in using my mobile which I never use and this also had the same messages popping up so dodn’t think it could be a cookies issue.

Hey, all was sorted when I woke up this morning. Not sure if it was something Seller Support did but they haven’t responded taking any credit for it so I’m guessing not. Have now set up again with authenticator and a backup number has been logged.
As I say, for clarity to those saying ‘why didn’t you have a backup?’. We did, it’s only that Amazon reset all our credentials and we had to set up login details again which is where everything started falling down! I just need them to now reapprove our bank account so we can take money out again!
