Automated Pricing Tool

Quick Question about the automated pricing tool. Say there are two sellers on a listing, and both have the tool set to put the price 1p below a lower priced seller, is the price simply going to go down 1p back and forth every 15 minutes until both sellers hit their set ‘minimum selling price’?

Seems like a very daft system…

Yes in essence that is how it works it will always drive you to be 1p cheaper than your rival and your rival will always try to be 1p cheaper than yours. When you hit your minimum price or they do then the repricing will stop.

I do use Automated Pricing some of my Amazon products but I wouldn’t use the Amazon automated pricing told. Some of the paid for repricers are much more intelligent in the way they reprice to avoid this type of scenario, you can also elect not to compete with certain sellers if you know they will always try to go cheaper. They also as well increase your price if your competitor sells out and you no longer need to compete with them.
