Is this a Scam Call?

Hi,

Today I got a call from someone who said he was calling from Amazon for KYC verification and shared a website link which is sellercentral-kyc-amazon.com

It was suspicious and I didn't open the page. Does anybody have a similar experience before?

Amazon team can you please update the sellers if it is a legit call or not

Thanks

Based on the details you provided, the call you received appears to be a phishing attempt. The website link shared does not match Amazon's official domain, which is typically amazon.com or sellercentral.amazon.com. Legitimate Amazon representatives would not ask you to visit a website with a different domain for KYC (Know Your Customer) verification.

I would recommend the following:

  1. Do not open the website link or provide any personal or financial information to the caller.
  2. Contact Amazon's seller support directly through their official channels to report the suspicious activity.
  3. Be cautious of unsolicited calls or emails claiming to be from Amazon or any other company, and always verify the legitimacy of the request before taking any action.

Amazon takes security and fraud prevention very seriously. They have processes in place to securely handle KYC and other seller-related activities. If there were a legitimate need for KYC verification, Amazon would communicate that through their official channels, not through an unverified website link.

You can also report this suspicious call and phishing attempt to Amazon through the "Report Something Suspicious" channel.

Reporting incidents like this helps Amazon investigate potential scams and take appropriate actions to protect their sellers. It allows them to identify patterns, shut down fraudulent sites, and improve their security measures.

Please let me know if you have any other questions! I'm happy to provide further information to the best of my knowledge. The forums community and I are committed to assisting you. Feel free to share how we can support you moving forward.

I wish you all the best,

-Nikki
