Policy Violations

We have 4 policy violations that i cannot figure out how to fix. We sell books. One of them is a suspected intellectual property violation for a trademark misuse. These listing of books have all been closed or sold long ago, but yet the violation is still there. The other 3 are for unfair pricing. Those 3 books have all been sold or closed or properly repriced, but yet the violation still says 3 and they are nowhere to be found in the repricing section. Somebody please help?

Amazon has a LONG memory -- you did sell or list that ASIN in your catalog, so they consider it fair game.

It appears from some other recent posts that one of their computer systems had some spare time and went excavating into really old files.

Additionally, from some of the posts, problems might have cropped up even when ASINs had been deleted from the seller listings years previously.

Amazon can and will go back years looking for connections and will use DNA (Darned Near Anything) as evidence!

This will not help with existing trouble, but as a preventative measure, regularly delete all inactive listings.

You may have listed a book on a proper detail page, sold the book, and a few months/years later someone hijacked that page to a restricted item.

Now you have a history of offering that restricted item. Unless you have deleted -- not just closed -- the listing.

As part of the Account Health Rating program policy, preemptive intellectual property violations occur by Amazon taking precautions for brands to ensure information on listings is correct and, occasionally, to verify a seller has the authorization to utilize their intellectual property.

Did you create the listings yourself? Have you checked to ensure the brand of the item matches the trademark associated with the violation? Do you have authorization to use the cited trademark?

With these violations, you have the choice of updating the listing, provide a letter of authorization or licensing agreement, or you may delete the listing from your inventory. Even with an inventory of zero, the listing being present in that page shows intention of selling it moving forward, thus the need to delete it.

In order to address these specific violations, you will need to update the minimum and maximum price of the listings cited in this area, in addition to your price plus shipping. You can access this via the 'update pricing" button or via Pricing Health. Once updated for compliance with Amazon's marketplace fair pricing policy, the violations tend to resolve and are removed.

If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to further use this thread or update us here! The Forums community and I are here to support you.

DELETE them from your "Inactive" Inventory. In fact, select "All Inventory" then search for said books to make sure they're not hidden somewhere, giving Amazon you still intend to sell them.

Also, Select "Manage All Inventory" again, then click " Search Suppressed and Inactive Listings" (found at the top, in blue) --- look there are make sure none of the said items are sitting there.

From what you're describing (sounds familiar), and especially as you said this has been some while back, I'm thinking they must be sitting somewhere. Good luck.

I just remembered Amazon cited me for Counterfeit FBA product on an ASIN i have never sent in FBA or even created a SKU for FBA on the ASIN.

We had to use invoicing for items we never shipped to FBA to clear the claim and then Amazon mailed us the actual product which turned out to be authentic but some other sellers FBA product.
