Damaged Returns Destroyed by Customer and No Reimbursement or Return Option
I'm beyond frustrated. I've had units returned by customers listed as customer-damaged. Instead of being reimbursed or offered the option to have the products returned to me, Amazon simply marked them as “unsellable” and destroyed them without notifying me or giving me a chance to recover my inventory.
This is unacceptable. These were high-value items that I could have repaired or salvaged. Instead, I’m left with zero compensation and zero product.
I need a real explanation and accountability here. I’m posting this in the hopes that someone from Amazon who monitors this forum will respond.
What recourse do sellers have when Amazon makes irreversible decisions on our inventory without giving us a choice?
I can see NOTHING in amazon policy that states a customer-damaged product is not eligible for reimbursement.

Yeahhhh it's annoying as F*$@!
But here's the policy: FBA Reimbursement Eligibility
Specifically:

The number of times that I've been entirely sure a unit was marked as "customer damaged" specifically so that they didn't need to reimburse us is... well, I couldn't even count.
Make sure you go into your settings and turn off the "disposal" option, so that you at least have the opportunity to get your inventory back. Disposal / Removal

One of the many reasons we removed ALL of our items from FBA in 2019. Wait until they lose a ton of your items and make believe they dont know what happened to them. We lost a ton of $ between all of their nonsense. Not for me as I want to live a long, healthy, stress free life. Good luck to you

Yeah, sure they destroy them...Free stuff! Either employees go home with them or they become warehouse deals...either way you're SOL

you might have your settings incorrect for FBA returns.
If you can get items back , find somethiing to claim, other than customer damaged, which Amazon does not pay for.
