A-to-Z Claim Granted to Buyer for expensive item without returning it!

Hello,

We have been selling on Amazon for 12 years with good customer satisfaction and hardly an issue. Recently, there was a slew of instances where people buy our product (It is nearly $1000) then file A-to-Z claim claiming various fictitious reasons.

This last one takes the cake. First, the buyer files a claim stating he is missing parts (manual and screws) for the product received (proof of delivery via signature etc. is available). RMA was auto-generated and we also contacted buyer that we can obviously replace the hardware that is missing. Buyer files A-to-Z claim and it is initially denied by Amazon. Makes sense , right? Customer, please send the item back and then you get refund.

So they file ANOTHER A-to-Z claim, this time stating that they received wrong item which obviously is false since the original A-to-Z claim states they did receive the correct item but just missing parts. This time, Amazon approves the claim WITHOUT having the buyer ship the item back first. When asking Amazon for tracking number, etc. for the return Amazon said that they do not have it and they say they have no data supporting the fact item was sent back. What is worse, Amazon, to justify their own approval stated customer DID ship the item back. Of course we were charged for the claim.

It is impossible to do business with Amazon anymore. Over the years I estimate that we have made well into the six figures worth of fees to Amazon. Yet, when the problem (outright fraud it seems) arises, we the sellers are left holding the bag.

It is time to say good-riddance as it is clear that there is ABSOLUTELY no support for sellers.
