Final assessment of historical UK VAT Liability owed to Amazon as you are not established in the UK for VAT purposes

It's been about a year and a half. My payments are still pending.

I already knew that I had a VAT liability as we were not based in the UK.

In fact, Amazon has been deducting VAT from my sales and paying it to HMRC since January 1, 2021. I was registered with Amazon's automatic payment service.

According to the latest notifications from Amazon, I owe GBP 1,397 VAT due to some of my sales for which VAT was not paid. It was reported that it was a final decision.

OK no problem.

There were 2 options given to me to pay for this. First, they can deduct it from the positive balance in my Seller account. The other option was to pay into the bank account given to me.

I chose the first option. And I waited. It says that my payments will be released within 7 days after the seller makes a deduction from my account.

However, Amazon is still keeping me waiting for 3 weeks.

Why? Why? Why?

You also stated the ultimate liability. I'm still waiting.

I don't understand, it's not hard. If you can't do it, then why do you say you will fix it within 7 days?

I contact them "mdri-exec-escalations@amazon.co.uk". But they just say wait. It's been a year and a half. My money is still with Amazon.

I have seen many Amazon sellers on Amazon Forum whose payments were suspended for this reason. I'm calling out to you: Did you get your money?
