Buyer requested a replacement but returned a used item.

Hello sellers,

I need a little input on how we can proceed. We shipped the buyer a water filter. Buyer received item and then requests a return for the item but the return was for a replacement and not for a refund. All good so far! Since the buyer shipped out the return we get a message from Amazon to ship out the replacement. All good! Today we receive the return and come to see the the buyer swapped out our Brand New Water filter and shipped back their dirty used item. Went to file a Safety Claim and was not able to do it? So now this buyer has 2 of our items and we are out of this money. Is there anything we can do on our part to recoup this money. I believe these buyers are now using this return method to receive 2 items for free.

You can message them and politely tell them they returned the wrong item and ask for the correct item to be returned.

If they do not respond you can advise them they have committed fraud and if the correct item is not returned, you will be contacting the appropriate authority.

Amazon " internal team" is looking into an order for me. The buyer purchased over $400 in merchandize. AFTER I shipped they canceled the order. Amazon in all their wisdom provided a full refund. Amazon did nothing about getting my merchandise returned to me. The buyer has opted out of receiving messages. The buyer now has my merchandize AND over $400... I told Amazon to give me my money or give me my Merchandize... stay tuned

It has been a while since I had this same issue, but when I did, I had to file the SAFE-T Claim against the original order, not the replacement order. If you use the replacement order ID it will tell you it is not eligible for a claim.

Hi so,

Amazon is no longer part of this equation anymore; once Amazon refunds the buyer, the problem is only between you and the buyer, this is how things work, what you can do is:

Report them to ic3.gov;

Contact the buyer's local police station and file a complaint, usually is 25 dollar charge; if there is more than one complaint already about this address, then the supervisor from the police station will notify you and lead the case to the court, you don't even need to appear in court the 25 dollars charge will cover it, The local police station doesn't like people like that live on their towns,

You also can contact any pawn shop near the buyer's address and request them to recover the items, these people are louder and usually escorted by police so it is a little more expensive. but if your product was expensive it should be worth it.

I know the moderators and many community members don't like my comments and suggestions because they believe I'm too extreme in my suggestions. But it's your money go get it, and what mostly surprised me is no one likes it when I say once Amazon issues a refund the platform is no longer part of this equation, so you will never be retaliated or punished for recovery what is your.

what is wrong with amazon sellers that is postal fraud if you have a good track record and the post office knows you file a claim with the usps and see a attorney and press charges on these people

cancel replacement, customers use then send back the old one.

file a claim with usps then file a criminal charge against the buyer for fraud do this and see what happens. We all have to do this and then these scamming buyers will go away.

Do not expect Amazon to back you up or for anyone on this (or any other forum) to help you.

Contact the scammer's local police department and file a theft and fraud complaint. If the Post Office was used then contact the Postal Inspectors and file a mail fraud complaint.

Never re-ship or refund until you receive back the item. That way you only lose once because amazon will not help you. You just have to absorb the loss and learn form it
