How long to get a first sale?

I am new to amazon selling. I have started Amazon FBA on me too listing. It is a puckator pusheen cat water bottle. I am wondering how long it takes to get your first sale. There was a buyer with 7 in stock and he ran out. So the product is selling.

There are others selling for the same price, you probably just havent had the buy box

If one seller ran out there will be 100's of other sellers with same products instock. There is no time limit on your first sale, if you are not already doing PPC I would suggest that you start running some campaigns to bring more visibility to your listing.
In most cases new products won't have the buy box option but this will come over time.

If you have been watching social media/youtube and how easy it is to sell on Amazon you are in for a big shock.
Asking how long it takes to get a sale is like asking how long is a piece of string.
Most customers will buy an item by clicking the Buy button and will not look to see if there are other sellers of the same item. As a new seller it will be very difficult to get the Buy Box - even if you are doing FBA. The algorithm of which seller gets the Buy Box is a closely guarded secret that only Amazon know but things such as price, whether FBA or FBM, seller feedback, length of time seller has been active will all influence it. If this is your only product listed you are going have a long wait to get a sale unless all other sellers run out of stock.
I am afraid you are going to need patience.

If the Amazon God is happy with you, you might make a sale. If its really happy with you, you might make some money from the sale. And if you are very good, you might be able to withdraw it within a month or two!
In the eyes of the Amazon god, most of us are bad. Our punishment is to spend the rest of our days performing meanless tasks just to please the Amazon God.
The Amazon God was very upset with me yesterday. It swapped the main image of one of my best-selling seasonal items, and now I have to spend weeks praying to the Amazon God to please just change it back.

Google Amazon buybox and learn about it. Make sure you have the right data so you know how many have sold in a day then you should know.
If you set the price to 1p you would get a sale in minutes but you would obviously lose money.
Get the buybox get the sale. You have to have the professional plan to be able to get the buybox this is £30 per month roughly
