Labels ASIn vs FNsku
Hi, listed a generic product and created and provided UPC for product. When I printed labels to apply on product, I was given label with ASIN. I applied labels and shipped product to Amazon with no issues receiving and selling. In what scenario will I be given FNSKU label? is it when there are multiple seller for this product to help differentiate sellers? Please explain when an ASIN is issued to apply vs FNsku?

Hello @Seller_cScGsuh4RGdoh,
Thanks for reaching out. If your items do not have a UPC code printed directly on your packaging, you will be required to apply an Amazon barcode to your items. Since your items are generic, no one else can list on your ASIN per the generics policy. However, if you listed on a branded items page and you want to ensure that your customers only get your products, then you would want to change your FBA Label settings prior to converting your SKU to FBA so that it would assign you an FNSKU for your product. You can change the setting by going to the settings icon in the upper right hand corner of your account, then got to Fulfillment by Amazon, then you can change what labels to you would like to use for your items, manufacturer barcodes or Amazon barcodes. You can read more about barcodes here.
If you have additional questions regarding FBA, please create a new discussion and select Fulfill Orders and the relevant tag. Also ensure that you select the correct country flag you are inquiring about above the new discussion button, so the appropriate team that can access your account can assist you. Be sure to also provide your case ID if you have a question about a specific issue, as we will need one to investigate your issue.
I hope this information is helpful!
