I’m just intrigued by how much stock seller generally send for FBA? Amazon emailed me saying. Send 60 days worth of stock…. 60 days seems too much but I’m intrigued by what others think?

Ignore anything Amazon recommends.Your question is impossible to answer, only you know what volumes your business sells but it can take from 7 days upwards to get stock on sale from your shipping date the object being, dont run out of FBA stock.

If you want to maintain a healthy IPI then you want to send little and often ideally.

Edit - Amazon’s own IPI guidance seems to suggest between 30 and 60 days.

I tend not pay that much attention to Amazon’s recommendations. Though if you have the time and space to do it, you can customise it to be more sensible for you.
ie. you can allow for manufacturer time, transit time etc and how long you want the stock to actually last.

However, a lot depends on how often you are actually able to restock, so what works for you, won’t necessarily work for me.

I am fortunately in the position, where I can reorder stock and have it within 48 hours, which means that I can get on sale, within about a week, depending on receipt of goods etc at Amazon.

I would say that on average, I hold 4-6 weeks worth of stock at any one time. It helps to avoid the highs and lows and make it easier to refill.

But if your bringing stock in from China for example and it takes 6-8 weeks to get here, you need to allow for that lead time. So you would probably want to be holding at least 3 months of stock.

I usually send in about 30 days worth, but I’m in the same position as Littleshop and Neil, if needed I can literally drive 20 mins to the warehouse and buy more, or order online and have it next day

Amazons recommendations make no sense to me, I’ve had them tell me they sold 100 of something in the last 30 days, and that they have 20 in stock that will last 25 days…

I have no idea where their figures come from, so I tend to work it out myself, or if I’m feeling lazy I just send in about 1/3-1/2 of what they recommend
