Yes, OTP is required. Do you have an option "keep me signed in" ?
Amazon seems to have gone through a phase where many of us were suddenly being faced with this every single time after several years of consistent problem-free sign-ins due to having simply checked the "do not require on this device"
For some this every-time annoyance just went away and it's back to requiring the one-time code only just once in awhile.

You enter the OTP every time you're asked.
It's no longer optional; Amazon requires it; although the frequency seems random. Sometimes I don't have to enter it at all in the morning; other times, right in the middle of working, I'll get logged out and have to enter it again.
