I cannot ship via USPS Flat Rate Box today but can tomorrow

Hi-

I ship heavy stuff by USPS flat rate box. For example, I have a multi-unit 160 lb order that will fit ship in six USPS Medium Flat Rate boxes. Any other way takes all of my margin.

If I select today as the ship date, USPS Flat rate is not an option under any circumstances (i.e., one unit.) If I pick tomorrow as the ship date, it is.

The order is supposed to ship today. Should I say I am shipping tomorrow and drop off today so it gets scanned? Customer service could not really explain why this is happening. (They said that the shipping org is third party and must have hit their limit with USPS for that day.) They it could affect my ODR if I say I am shipping late even if I drop off within the window. \I am 99% FBA so would prefer to not take the hit.

I also could pay for the FRB at the PO but I lose Amazon's "protection" by not going through their system.

The order was placed yesterday and occurred both yesterday and today.

Thanks for any advice.

My experience with labels that are printed with a future date has been that the 'scan' won't show up as active until after midnight on the day on the label, even if halfway across the country by then.

That would seem to destroy what you are trying to do.

I'm thinking it's a glitch on Amazon and try printing with today as the date again to see if it cleared up.

I have never used Amazon Buy Shipping since I want ALL my postage in one spot but I find a daily 'limit' on USPS for Amazon to be ludicrous. And if you mean 'Seller Support' I can understand why you got that answer.....................

Hi @Seller_tIrJBCqGYIsUS,

Dominic here from Amazon, happy to try to help with this one. Because we are close to the ship by date I would recommend going outside of Amazon's buy shipping and use the flat rate boxes to keep the margin. I would ensure a signature is required for delivery for added protection.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions!

Best,

Dominic
