Newbie and aged shipper here. When I am sending to amazon does my product have to be in a box already or does Amazon put it in one of theirs ?
My product comes in boxes of six in a larger box of 24 - do I give the measurements of the box of 24 when Amazon ask for dimensions ? Is that what I send to them ?

It sounds like you haven’t looked at the various videos and help documents relating to FBA. Start here as you really do need to understand the basics:
Amazon will ask for the dimensions of the packaging of the selling unit so the info you provide is the unit you are selling in. I’m guessing that you will be selling in singles so it’s the overall size of the actual item they’re after.
Remember that each selling unit requires labelling, either FNSKU or manufacturer barcode, depending on your settings. DO NOT put a FNSKU label on the outer carton or the box of 6 or that box becomes one item and ensure there are no other barcodes on the cartons except FBA or courier labels.
