Do you craft with your kids? (Handmade Community Question)

My 7-year-old daughter has become interested in my button-making machine! She's been drawing her own designs and creating them into pins. It's so fun and rewarding to see her have a fresh eye for something I've been doing since 2008. And, it's something we can do together!

Just curious: Do any of you like to craft with your kids? Do you ever give them small tasks related to your creative work?

Our business started when I taught my 7 year old to sew! That was in 2014 - still sewing for the Amazon shop but also delivering shipments, doing product photography,

and learning about employment tax. It's still fun but more work!

Love this, I don't have kids but couldn't help but chime in!

I don't think I'm too skillful with my hands, but last year I attended Craftcation (an event for makers in California) and I absolutely LOVED doing macramé in one of the classes.

I want to do more, so if anyone has tips, please pass along!

Hey @Seller_YxV7mJe5Q346V, I love this question! 🎨

I don't have any kiddos but growing up, my mom was very crafty (and her mom was too). We were always doing projects from scrapbooking to coloring books. Last year for St. Patrick's Day weekend, my mom got her best friends and I together for a crafting getaway. 🍀

We rented an AirBnb and made green sparkly headbands out of pipe cleaners. We wore them around town when we went out exploring. We also rock painted.

Hello @Seller_YxV7mJe5Q346V,

My kids are now grown, but I love crafting with my grandkids! They love getting creative and having me display their crafts, which they are so proud of!

It's great that you are keeping her creative mind busy!

I crafted with my grandkid when she was little (now she's a college student).

I don’t have kids but my Niece enjoys handwriting thank you cards for us, for our packages. She’s paid of course which she loves because she can then buy things she wants but wouldn’t normal get unless it’s a holiday.
