FBM Pending Orders

I have 5 pending orders for 4 days under the business customer and it has been holding my inventory. I updated the inventory and the next day a pending order came in under a business customer again. What should I do?

There is not much you can do. In THEORY those should drop off when they are not paid with a valid card but it can be weeks before that happens.

Just be sure that when you say " I updated the inventory" that you have enough stock on hand to meet current orders AND the pending ones just in case they finally go through.

You CAN open a case if you suspect it is a competitor that is just tying up your inventory. Amazon has the ability (some of the time) to see if it is a malicious actor doing that to you.

Pretty sure there is a way where person pending all your orders is likely someone selling same item. Many times pending orders are just removing your active inventory and you will need to waste many hours checking and relisting items.

I think we can not see the customer information under the pending status, so we cannot make sure if the orders come from the same business customer or different business customers.

And I think the only thing can be done is waiting.

After couple days, the order will be submitted, or the order will be canceled, the order will not under the pending status forever.

Hi @Seller_eaWATWHjN0v7j,

Dominic from Amazon, happy to help.

Why is an order pending?

Here are some of the most common reasons for orders being in Pending status:

  • Amazon has been unable to obtain authorization for the buyer's credit card.
  • The buyer selected convenience store payment but hasn't completed the payment.

Don't ship an order while in Pending status, even if the buyer contacts you directly. If a buyer contacts you while an order is in Pending status (for example, to cancel a pending order), refer them to Amazon Customer Service for more information.

Best,

Dominic
