SPLIT SHIPMENTS GALORE

How in the hell can this keep happening? For the last few weeks Amazon continues to split small shipments of books into even smaller shipments. For much of the year, I can send a one-box shipment to one warehouse by choosing private batch and then Sending to Amazon. But throughout December and January, I will scan around 15 books and typically see at least two warehouses, sometimes three of four. How can this be avoided? This doubles or triples the time required for shipment and increases costs. Please help.

This has been going on and discussed in the Forum for months. Just do a search for the MANY posts about it.

One of the 'joys' of doing FBA is that THEY decide what they want/need in whatever location and they have you ship it there.

That is so that THEIR customers can get things faster and make THEM look good.

If you ship multiple boxes they can/will make you split shipments. There was one recent thread where the seller had to ship to three locations. They were using the ‘placement service’ and said ‘This dramatically increase cost. For me it cost of sending same shipment went from $300 to $1500. ‘

My solution has been (and until I am in a nursing home and can't ship things any longer) to sell FBM. I don't trust Warehouse Wally and their automated forklifts to not run over my stuff.

I pack and ship things better than they do anyway. My last several shipments came in plastic bags. One was the package of socks as sold in stores with just the shipping label stuck on it. At least the mail man didn't laugh at my choices. I'm considering buying some thongs just to get a chuckle out of him.

Unless you simply HAVE to do FBA you will continue having these issues and they will most likely get worse as they 'fine tune' where your items need to go.

For smaller shipments, it's suggested to consolidate your items into a single box, if feasible. This can be more efficient and cost-effective. However, it's important to adhere to Amazon FBA's packaging guidelines. Ensure that the total weight of the box does not exceed 50 lbs and that none of the box's dimensions (length, width, height) exceed 25 inches.

Use 2Dworkflow software, they just released an update yesterday that combines shipments.

my last 3 shipments (200 SKU - 200 items per shipment) had funny splits. 199 are given to CLT2 and 1 item to the same distribution center also

Again same amounts 197 to IAH3 and 3 is also to IAH3!!

I cancelled the latter ones.

Hi @Seller_p7A87kl9XWIZE, I'll agree with @Danish here. If you aren't looking to try the Inventory Placement Service, the best option to avoid multiple destinations would be to consolidate into one box where possible in accordance with the shipping and routing requirements.
