review average ratings not adding up
Hi would someone from Amazon here please check the status of case no. 15649390181?
It says "transferred" to another team and I have not heard back yet after the transfer happened.
Here's what I inquired about fyi:
(I have 16 customer reviews.
Among these, I see I have six reviews that gave me five-stars and are verified purchase.
I also have additional three five-star reviews but are not verified purchase.
I had been previously informed by Amazon that non-verified reviews do not count towards score calculation.
But even so, I just calculated, and it should be:
6/13 *100= (six five-star reviews out of 13 verified reviews total)=46%.
But it shows as 44% five star on my score chart.
It's a small discrepancy, but a discrepancy nonetheless.
Also, among 13 reviews, I have
6x five-star review =30
1x four-star review =4
3x three-star review =9
2x two-star review =4
1x one-star review =1
Total is 48.
Thus average score is 48/13=3.69.
So my score should be 3.7, right?
But it's displayed as 3.6.
Can you please fix this?)
*****
Amazon auto system had told me that the average should not be a true average, but a weighted average,
where five star reviews and one star reviews are weighted more than, 2-4 star reviews.
BUT!
If so, then my average score should be even higher, because I have six five-star reviews and only one one-star review.

Don't waste your time on this. The algorithm is what it is. No one at amazon can adjust it and very very few people actually understand how it is skewed to get the numbers it does. Just know that amazon tilts the numbers so that poor reviews haunt us for a long time. Do your best and keep moving forward, otherwise little things like this will drive you crazy. Trust me amazon is full of this kind of crazy crap.

Hello @Seller_idQUopIou9L5d
Amazon uses machine-learned models to calculate product star ratings instead of a simple average. Please refer to the retail website help page for more information.
I hope this helps. Thanks, Susan
